WE ARE THE FISCHERS!
Muirwood Reclamations began from the need of a dining table in our Key West home. Years later in 2015, we launched an online shop offering first-rate products handcrafted from reclaimed and industrial material.
Originally from the Chicago area and studying music at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, Scott enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 2007 and has since been stationed all over the country. Though, it wasn't until his tour in Key West, Florida where things got a little more interesting. Here's where I come in! Scott and I were married in May 2013 and while living in military housing with our roommate, we found the need for a dining table (eating at the couch was getting old). Deciding to build it himself, Scott went over to the local lumber store. Here he found a gorgeous piece of reclaimed wood from a barn in Chicago. And wallah - a pub style table with pipe legs made perfect for dining. I think it was here where we fell in love with industrial style.
It wasn't until we were stationed back in Chicago that Muirwood Reclamations became a thought. With the weather turning cold, Scott was out to find a new hobby. He bought a bucket of rusty, old railroad spikes and started brainstorming ideas. In April, 2015 he created our first Railroad Spike Bottle Opener. Quickly following was a coat rack, and wine rack all made out of Reclaimed Barnwood from southern Illinois. We also launched our shop that very same month.
Outside of Muirwood Reclamations, we LOVE being parents and spend our time with our daughter, just doing family things (and eating good food and drinking good wine).

Cheers!
